“Big fish do not live in small ponds” – you can only boil what you cannot catch.

The proverb meaning behind this flag alludes to one’s attempt at finding fish in a pond full of leaves - which according to folklore leads to bad luck.

A pond depicted on flags also often refers to the sacred protection of a company and its community. –  “Never fish from the sacred pond”
