The proverbial meaning behind this flag likens an Asafo company to a crocodile, a wise manager, and a leader in both water and on land.
 
Proverb:
"Fish grow fat for the benefit of the crocodile, who rules the river".

A good leader (crocodile) does not overwhelm his fish but rather lets them grow in the sacred pond to gain power and knowledge, as this will strengthen his/her kingdom.
